The Prime Minister, Mr. Muhammad S. Al-Sudani, Directs to Raise Level of Crude Oil Production to Increase The Production of Associated Gas

The Prime Minister, Mr. Muhammad S. Al-Sudani, chaired on Sun. 4/8/2024 the periodic meeting for following up the oil sector projects, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil, and a number of advisors and officials in the ministry and its affiliated companies.

He listened to a briefing on the projects recently inaugurated, which represent a qualitative leap in raising the capabilities of the oil industry in Iraq.

The rates of achievement in export, distribution and transportation projects, and the progress of work in these vital sectors were also discussed, in addition to following up the completion of refining projects and integrated energy projects.

The Prime Minister directed to expand crude oil production operations to increase the production of associated gas, through national efforts or completing the production rates contracted with licensing round companies.

He also directed to increase the production capacity of the northern refineries to cover the needs of electricity and the requirements of the northern refineries.

The meeting included discussion of current gas investment projects, especially with the associated gas investment rate reaching 69% of the gas produced in all Iraqi fields, which represents a strategic achievement in a short period of time, as has been achieved an increase of 13%
