Oil Exploration Company Participates in International Conference of Jordanian Geologists Association
Oil Exploration Company participated in the 11th International Conference of the Jordanian Geologists Association and the 10th International Conference on the Geology of the Eastern Mediterranean, which was held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, during the period 22-24 October. The conference was attended by a number of local and international scientific and academic figures, specialists and those interested in geological affairs.
It is noteworthy that the Head of Geologists Association and Secretary-General of the Arab Geologists Union, Mr. Saad Obaid Muhammad, headed the Iraqi delegation participating in the conference. The assistant chief geologist, Ms. Shahad Wadi’i Hashim, in the Exploration Research and Laboratories Department at Oil Exploration Company, presented a research paper entitled “Analysis of the Sedimentary Basin of Akkas Field”, which received wide attention from researchers and specialists in the fields of energy, given the importance of the gas issue as one of the global areas of interest.
The participation of Oil Exploration Company came upon an official invitation from the Jordanian Geologists Association, the organizing body of the conference, which witnessed several discussions on key topics in the field of natural resources. The conference focused on the role of the economic modernization vision in enhancing the mining sector within the sector of high-value industries, which contributes to achieving economic development, increasing the contribution of this sector to the gross domestic product, and creating job opportunities for graduates in this field.
