Oil Exploration Company Organizes Workshop on Information and Cyber Security in Cooperation with ALSCO
In the context of raising awareness of the importance of information security, Oil Exploration Company (OEC), in cooperation with ALSCO, a company specialized in cyber security and is affiliated with the Ministry of Communications, organized a technical workshop entitled “Information and Cyber Security” on 7 October 2024 in Muhammad Fawzi Hall. The workshop was attended by the Assistant Director General for Administrative Affairs, Mr. Hussein Shuwail Awda, Manager of Information and Communications Technology Department, Mr. Muhammad Kadhum Lula, and a number of specialists in the company and a group of employees working in relevant divisions and departments.
The workshop included multiple topics that addressed the risks of modern hacking techniques, starting from traditional methods to the use of artificial intelligence in hacking operations. The workshop focused in particular on the importance of securing email as one of the areas most exposed to cyber security attacks, due to the valuable information it contains.
During the workshop, ALSCO representatives presented practical solutions and preventive measures to secure systems and email, which contributes to enhancing the level of security protection in oil institutions and companies. They called for intensifying efforts to confront the increasing electronic threats. This workshop comes within a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing the capabilities of Oil Exploration Company employees in the field of cybersecurity, in line with global technological developments and contributing to protecting sensitive information.
