Oil Exploration Company Holds an Important Meeting to Discuss Details of The Exploratory Drilling Project in Western Region to Enhance Natural Gas Investment
In the context of implementing the directions of the oil sector leadership, Oil Exploration Company held an important meeting at Ninawa Hall on Sun. 4/8/2024.
The meeting was attended by the Director General of Oil Exploration Company, Dr. (Osama R. Hussein) and the Director General of MDOC, Mr. (Muhammad Y. Hassan), in addition to the representative of the Deputy of Oil Ministry for Upstream Affairs, the Assistant Director General for Technical Affairs in OEC, representatives of Iraqi Drilling Company and a group of specialists from the concerned companies.
The meeting focused on discussing the details of implementing the exploratory drilling project, which is an essential part of the government program, and highlighted the importance of exploration activity in the western region, as this activity is witnessing increasing interest with recent developments in natural gas investment.
During the meeting, the technical aspects related to drilling operations were reviewed, including the geological prediction program prepared by Oil Exploration Company for "Um Al-Anz_1" well.
The meeting resulted in identifying main requirements and providing a number of strategic recommendations to support the effective implementation of the project.
The Director General of Oil Exploration Company stressed the importance of the project in enhancing national capabilities in the field of exploration and drilling, and stressed the need for coordination between all concerned parties to achieve the desired goals.
This meeting comes within the ongoing efforts to support and develop the infrastructure of the energy sector and enhance the national investments in this vital field.
