Oil Exploration Company Discusses Prospects for Cooperation with Chinese ZhenHua Company

Oil Exploration Company (OEC) held a discussion meeting on Monday, 7 October 2024, in Nineveh Hall to discuss prospects for joint cooperation with Chinese ZhenHua Company. The meeting was headed by Mr. Abbas Muhammad Ali, Deputy Director General for Technical Affairs. In the presence of representatives of the Chinese company and a representative of Dhi Qar Oil Company, along with a number of specialists from OEC technical bodies and departments.

During the meeting, ways of cooperation were discussed to implement projects related to the fields and exploration blocks that Zhenhua Company obtained to develop within previous licensing rounds. Among the fields that were discussed were Abu Khaima, Al-Qarnain, and East Baghdad fields. This cooperation aims to enhance exploration and development operations in a way that contributes to increasing production and achieving sustainable development goals in the Iraqi oil sector.
