OEC Organizes Workshop on Hydrocarbon Reservoir Management and Monitoring
As part of Oil Exploration Company (OEC) efforts to enhance technical knowledge and apply the latest technologies to improve the performance of oil reservoirs to achieve sustainability and efficiency in production operations, OEC organized a technical workshop entitled “Hydrocarbon Reservoir Management and Monitoring” on Sunday 22 December 2024, in Mohamed Fawzi Hall. The lecture was presented by Mr. Ahmed Haitham Sadiq, in the presence of specialists from the relevant divisions and departments.
The workshop addressed several main topics, most notably defining the concept of reservoir management, which is an integrated process aimed at achieving maximum benefit from oil and gas reservoirs. This management includes the application of advanced engineering and geological techniques that rely on continuous monitoring, advance planning, and making decisions based on field data. It also aims to increase production rates, reduce costs, and improve economic sustainability.
The workshop also addressed the basic topics necessary for implementing reservoir management, including the use of seismic technologies, core examination, facies study, interpretation and analysis of logs and building a reservoir model to calculate reserve and design surface facilities, in addition to reservoir monitoring and economic efficiency analysis.
