OEC Director General said: “We are Keen to Explore and Invest the Free Natural Gas”

The engineer, Mr. Ali Jasim Hammood, OEC Director General, confirmed that the company is keen to invest the free natural gas which is a big part of the energy used in the main fields of life, including electric energy, according to the ambitions of the Ministry of Oil which is concerned with this important profile as it is a main source in financing the Iraqi economy.

He talked about that during his participation in the experimental workshop held on Mon. 9/1/2023 at the company’s headquarters entitled (The Basic Features of the Proposal of the 6^th Round of Petroleum Licensing within the Exploratory Blocks Promising of Gas in Western and Northern of Iraq), which was held by the Geology and Geophysics Division with the presence of a number of specialists.

Mr. Jasim explained: “During the workshop, we reviewed the possibilities that would develop methods of exploring the natural gas reservoirs in the western area which is a fertile ground for gas extraction, in addition to investing the associated gas for its importance in the national economy”.

The Director General added, “We discussed the work program and the future steps to start the implementation of this project, especially our company has a distinguished performance, engineering and technical expertise, and advanced equipment, in addition to obtaining international certificates that qualify it to succeed in exploring the natural gas widely across the country.
