Health Safety and Environment Department

The Health, Safety and Environment Department draws up all policies and processes for occupational health and safety and environmental protection to ensure the safety of individuals and equipment from the risks they may be exposed to, in addition to protecting the environment due to the activities resulting from Oil Exploration Company (OEC) operations.

 

Tasks and Duties of the Health, Safety and Environment Department

  1. Ensuring compliance with laws and legislations related to occupational health and safety and environmental protection.
  2. Developing HSE plans in all OEC sites and monitoring their implementation.
  3. Identifying HSE risks of all OEC activities, issuing all instructions and reviewing the procedures taken to ensure control of these risks.
  4. Reviewing HSE emergency plans developed for each site in a manner consistent with the nature of the area.
  5. Working to spread awareness of HSE issues to all OEC departments and sites through awareness lectures, workshops, training courses, wall posters, billboards, books, periodicals and any other means that contribute to increasing awareness of company staff.
  6. Following up on war remnants clearance certificate for all work sites of OEC in coordination with the Ministry of Environment.
  7. Identifying the causes of accidents, work injuries and occupational diseases by participating in central investigation committees and presenting proposals related to occupational safety and health to senior management to find precautions to prevent their recurrence and ensure the safety of the company's workers.
  8. Supervising the selection and preparation of personal protective equipment for workers and firefighting equipment for medical and occupational needs, according to requested quantities, to all company's sites.
  9. Organizing statistics on accidents, work injuries and occupational diseases and preparing periodic reports, in addition to statistics related to evaluating HSE performance.
  10. Preparing all foreign contract requirements related to HSE to contract with seismic crews.
  11. Following up on work trips and monitoring vehicle movement at work sites
  12. Managing maintenance operations for implemented tracking devices and following up on their outputs.
  13. Managing the drivers' performance evaluation system and reporting violators to the relevant authorities.
  14. Managing a vehicle database and registering data that can be used in the future for maintenance work.
  15. Managing, drawing, fixing and updating the roads used by work sites
